» Altec Lansing Unveiled New Speakers

Altec Lansing has unveiled a new
line of Bluetooth wireless and corded speaker systems designed for use with
MP3 enabled mobile phones, iPods, laptops and other portable digital
devices. The company also introduced a set of speakers designed to attach to
desktop flat-panel displays. The iMT521 SoundBlade Stereo Bluetooth Speaker
features dual 2" full-range high output speakers and full stereo Bluetooth
v.2 for wireless connectivity with most A2DP stereo Bluetooth mobile phones
and laptops. It also comes equipped with AVRCP for two-way remote volume,
mute and track forward/back controls from a cellular handset. Also included
are a built-in echo-canceling microphone for wireless speakerphone
capability. It supports both AC and battery (AA) power. The iMT521
SoundBlade will be available in November 2007 at $130.
The iMT207 Orbit-M and iM207 Orbit-MP3 are ultra portable speaker systems
that integrate a cone design with a custom-built 40mm speaker driver to
project a 360-degree sound field while weighing in at 230 gr. The
Orbit is shock resistant and uses AAA batteries for up to 24 hours
continuous play time. The Altec Lansing iMT207 Orbit-M and iM207 Orbit-MP3
will both be available in October 2007 at $40.

The iMT217 Nobi Speaker for Nokia XpressMusic phones are small enough to fit in a pocket and weigh 280 gr. Also AAA battery-powered, the speakers offer 24 hours of audio play time. The new Nobi will be available in October 2007 at $40.

Finally, the FX3020 SoundBar Speaker System for flat-panel PCs is a single
speaker solution for the unused area beneath most flat panel monitors. The
device features XdB for enhanced bass performance, a single in/out cable to
remove wire tangles and clutter and a side-positioned auxiliary
input/headphone jack. The FX3020 will be available in October 2007 for $100.
