Here is another ingenious product from the resourceful Japs, the Sanyo Eneloop solar charger which can charge 4 AA Eneloop batteries at a time and also has a USB port for charging your DAP, Mobile phone etc. So how does it work, the charger has a built in Lithium Ion battery which gets fully charged under optimum weather in around six days after which you can charge 2 AA (1900 mAh) Eneloop batteries in 150 mins and 4 batteries in 300 mins. Eneloop batteries are same like AA cells but they are 100 % recyclable and unlike other rechargable batteries they dont discharge automatically when unused. The USB connector has an output of DC5.0V 500mA which is sufficient for any portable gadget.

The Sanyo Eneloop solar charger will be available from Nov 21st in Japan for $ 170.
