» Sony Luma series (24"/20") monitors updated
(March 2007)

Sony has updated their
Luma line-up of monitors. The newly launched three displays -
24-inch LMD-2450W, 20-inch LMD-2030W and LMD-2050W are designed
for professionals. The 20" LMD-2030W provides 1,680x1,050
resolution, and support for HDMI. It is designed for
compatibility with HDV camcorders and decks in portable video
production applications such as event videography or on-location
shooting. The 24-inch LMD-2450W (pictured above) offers
1920x1200 resolution, 10-bit processing and accepts 1080/60P
signals via a standard DVI input.
The 24-incher and 20" LMD-2050W (1680x1050 resolution) are
designed for technical directors, producers and editors working
in broadcast, post-production, and event video production. Both
the displays includes a multi-display function which allows two
images from different sources to be displayed side-by-side. All
of them features Sony’s ChromaTru color processing technology
that compensates for variations in LCD color levels commonly
caused by differences in chromaticity coordinates, color
temperature and gamma curves. These monitors will be available
in May. No word on pricing.
