Onkyo already manufactures very good PC sound cards, and they will release a portable multimedia player with a 2.5" HDD bay on September 1st.

Onkyo is making its foray into the portable digital world but didn’t someone tell them its professional hara-kiri to launch a multimedia player without a LCD?

Anyways a multimedia player without a display may be considered blasphemous by many but the player with a 2.5" HDD redeems itself by supporting almost all possible formats like MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, XviD (avi/mpg/mpeg/m2v/dat/ifo/vob), MP3/WMA/Ogg Vorbis/WAV and JPEG.

The 80x148x24mm player has been called an amalgamation of a media center and a portable media player. It will be released on September 1 and comes bundled with output cables, an AC power and a car adapter.
