» Sony NW-S710F and NW-S610F Video Walkman

Sony announced the NW-S710F and S610F series of Video Walkmans, except for the color, memory capacity and noise cancellation feature (only present in NW-S710F) the other features are common. The units are equipped with a 1.8 inch LCD supporting a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. File support includes MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, MP3, WMA, and ATARAC, however the American / European model will include support for WMA DRM. Also included is an FM tuner, Digital Sound Enhancement Engine and a easy to use search engine. The NW-S710F comes with noise canceling technology and has a toggle switch on the top to turn On / Off the feature. The battery charges via USB and offers 33 hours of audio and 9.5 hours of video playback.

The Sony NW-S710F will be available in three capacities 8, 4 and 2GB whereas the NW-S610F will come in 4GB and 2GB capacities. You can choose from a variety of colors like pink, black and blue, the NW-S710F will come in two additional colors red and white. The units measure 79.5×42×11.5mm, weigh 50 grams and will be compatible with Windows only. They will go on sale in Japan from October 20 with prices starting from $135 for 2GB to $250 for 8GB version.
